Style: Thai restaurant, with "Warm service, elegant surroundings, and excellent Thai cuisine Let Internationally experienced chefs, Poppy and Srisuda, spoil your taste buds with their culinary delights. You'll find traditional favourites and innovative dishes on the menu as well as a wide variety of specialist vegetarian dishes." Yes, a very pleasant Thai restaurant. "One of a small chain: others include one in Carlton (230 Lygon St., just south of Grattan St.), Docklands (2 Watergate), St. Kilda (14 Fitzroy St.) and Healesville. (Yes, near the animal place, make it a proper day out! There is also a nice pub, with a good selection of proper beers in Healesville on the main road. It has a decent beer garden at the back too.).There is also one in Burwood (looks good actually, see the photos on their web site) and Croydon.
Ambience: Pretty good. Mind you, we had just come from the local cinema (great place) and watch 'Bride and Prejudice' - top 'good time' film!
Price: $25. Check out the menu for yourself. "Poppy's Thai is a previous winner of the 1998, 1999 and 2000 Asian Food Festival Award for Best Thai Cuisine. Andaman is the newest addition in a group of restaurants fast becoming the new standard in excellent Thai cuisine. The menu is created by internationally experienced chefs Poppy and Supachai - producing a large selection of innovative dishes complementing traditional favorites. Andaman is fully licensed and open Wednesday to Friday for lunch and nightly for dinner. This is a dinning experience not to be missed. ( menu )

Special Comments: There is an office licence (sorry 'bottle shop') just a few doors up the road, were they sell a fine selection of English beers (incl. Newcastle Brown Ale)!
