Style: Indian "Country and Street Eatery". It claims to be the first 'Hatti'-style restaurant, an region in the north of the sub-continent. The cooking is distinguished by the use of water rather than oil to cook the ingredients.
Ambience: ( 360º view )
Price: From the takeaway it looks cheap: Naans $1.20, mains $9, Mango Lassi $2.30, Desserts $3. Kingfishers at $5 a bottle? We will have to wait and see if that is not out-of-date. BTW, a tram runs outside :-)
Details: Just north of Brunswick Street, a couple of block up from Singh's. Licensed and B.Y.O., kids encouraged apparently.
Special Comments: Received 4 'V's from http://www.veggiefriendly.com.au/2006/03/23/kake-di-hatti-indian/. Various comments have been made regarding one of the in-house beers, although you can bring your own (http://www.grods.com/post/497/).
