Mietta's Review
"A small dimly lit room with a deep red colour scheme and Moorish overtones provides Morrocan mezedes (tapas like portions). As well there are more substantial clay pots ($14-$28). Service is helpful and staff will explain some of the more mysterious dishes. All in all a warm and welcoming experience."

The Age Liz Cincotta 04/02/2006
"Their mezze-style menu heralds Egyptian and North African dishes such as tamia (chick pea and fava bean fritters, quite like falafel), kibbeh, molokia (a chicken and herb dish) and kushery (a pasta, tomato and lentil dish)."

The Age A2 Thomas Hunter 25/06/2005
"The small space is immediately appealing, if a little dark. Scarlet walls and downlights, evocative of a Moroccan tea house set the visual tone, while the rooms pulse with conversation and some fairly mellow jazz. The menu is proudly authentic in its approach, starting with Egyptian and branching into other parts of North Africa and the Middle East."

The Age Cheap Eats 2005
"DENIZENS of the dark St Kilda night have found shelter in this red-walled lantern-lit hideaway. They slip away from Grey Street and into the subterranean back bar"

Herald Sun, citystyle, 15/06/2004,Simon Plant
"Score 14/20,'Bedouin Kitchen is not trying to convey the complexity of Middle Eastern food, nor is it modernising Arabesque flavours. This appealing St Kilda souk tempts us instead with home-style Egyptian food-and mostly succeeds."

The Age, Epicure, 24/02/2004, Matt Preston
"'old-world effect with a distinctly Middle Eastern feel...The surroundings also help to make the fairly simple peasant fare stand out...many of the dishes are best suited to sharing, go with a group and enjoy the ambience."

A quintessential St Kilda experience, but a dearth of curry dishes.

4 stars for food/service, bonus half star for attractive woman doing a culturally relevant belly dance during the meal.
Food is a little expensive, not curry. Mezze/tapas dishes. Don\'t go the banquet option at $35 a head, compared to $32 a head which also included drinks, desserts and coffees.
