Style: Nepalese; "The Base Camp is a charming little eatery appropriately snuggled between numerous hiking and camping shops on Glenferrie Road , Hawthorn." Well, it is a simple place with plenty of picturesque photos of snow-capped mountains (presumably in Nepal somewhere). Similar to Gurkhas, this is a mini-chain with a second 'camp' further along Glenferrie Road in Malvern called Gurkha's Cottage. (Yes, this is the second 'Base Camp' as opposed to a second 'Gurkhas' - see separate review). Note that only the Richmond Camp is open on Sunday evenings.
Ambience: Not too much to say about it. Passable.
Price: $20 per person ( menu )
Details: B.Y.O., near junction with Burwood Road. The nearest bottle shop is a Safeway, 75m further away from Burwood Road.
Special Comments: A good fill, although the bread came a little late.
